Yukizora.net

Y.net has been online since 2004-09-20. After many switching of free servers (Geocities) and using up other people's space (Byakugan.net), I finally decided to get my own domain! This was a big deal back then because I used to be really active as a web designer as well.

"Yukizora" (Ñ©¿Õ) is a Japanese term meaning "snowy sky" or "snow-laiden sky." For your imagery, imagine a snowing day and you're looking up at a piece of clear blue-gray sky with snowflakes falling down - that's yukizora. Named after my favourite season Winter, and also because around the time this site was opened, I was known for drawing cold-coloured pics way too much for my own good. (All my friends kept saying my art reminds them of Winter. XD) I've stopped my crazy obsession with cold colours, but I still like the name!

My sketch log at livejournal. Gets spammed with no particular time frame. Mutual friends policy. Though I may seem like I'm dead due to lack of commenting, I'm actually there almost 24/7, I just... uh, don't comment very often.

Minashiro - /minashiro
... Well, my deviantART account. Not much to say here. Mainly used to see other people's art. I have a long and relatively bad history with deviantART, so I'll not get into that here.

... My last.fm! If you're curious what I listen to and some stats on them? XD

My lovely hostees! Listed in alphabetical order. Hosting on Y.net is invitation-only. I only host art sites, or anything with artistic merit. (Photography portfolio ok, art blog ok, graphics provider site not ok, personal blog not ok.) Usually only offered to friends who are in need of webspace, unless you find me first!

A reply is guaranteed for every initial e-mail. However, please put all general feedback and comments in the Guestbook, all the messages get replied to in the guestbook as well.

I know I provided my MSN, but I'm actually not very talkative with strangers on MSN. Please only add if we're kind of on some sort of regular speaking terms, otherwise I may delete you from lack of conversations after a while. If you just want to know what's up with me and my life, LJ is the way to go. DA is... yeah, DA. These are secondary contacts for a reason, please e-mail me at the primary address if you're just confused where to find me.

FAQ

1. What does "yukizora" mean?
It means "snowy sky" in Japanese. See above description under the first section.

2. Are you in art school/taking art classes right now/in the past?
Nope. I currently major in Electrical Engineering. I've never taken art classes (besides the general ones that you have to take in school), and currently I've no plans of taking classes because ENGINEERING IS FREAKING HARD AND TIME-CONSUMING. T^T;;

3. What do you use to draw the pictures on the computer/traditionally?
Under every picture that I draw, I always list what I used in order to create that image. Unless specified, I always use my WACOM Graphire3 for drawing on the computer, and normal HB pencil for sketching on paper.

4. How did you learn to draw like this?
Observation and practice, to make a long process short. XD

5. Can I take your pictures for my personal use? (ie. wallpapers, layout, banners etc.)
If it stays on your computer harddrive, I have no problem with it. (E.g. wallpaper) However if you are editting it to fit size and posting it on the Internet I would prefer credits and a link back to Y.net. If you're unsure, e-mail me. Better safe than sorry (because if you haven't seen any, artists who get stolen from are definitely not happy campers.)

6. Do you do requests/art trades?
No.

7. Do you do commissions?
At the moment, I have no method of receiving your money as I do not take orders in the mail. Until I get myself a Paypal account (and I will, damn it!) if you want to commission me, the payment will be in an equivalent form (e.g. LJ paid account) and the drawing will be digitally sent to you. (i.e. I can do stuff traditionally, but scan and give you the digital version) Currently rates and such are not available on this site, if you're interested just drop me an e-mail.

8. Can you teach me how to draw/HTML/review my drawing/site?
Sorry. I definitely don't have the time to teach you how to draw/make a website. If you want my critique on your drawing or website, e-mail me. But please limit your requests, since I'm not a quality assurance machine. I also cannot guarantee that I'll be quick in reply, so you might have to wait a while.

9. How do I become a hostee at yukizora.net?
Hosting is by invitation only. See "Network" for details.

10. How old are you/where are you from/where do you live/etc?
Information about me is found here.
